HP has launched two laptops aimed at gamers. The HP Pavilion 15 and HP Omen 15 are part of a much wider rollout by the company to cater to the steadily increasing high-end gaming segment. Along with the Windows 10 gaming laptops, HP has also launched premium PC gaming accessories including keyboards and mouse in the HP Omen series.

HP Pavilion 15 Gaming Laptop: Specifications

The HP Pavilion 15 laptop features a 15.6-inch full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) backlit widescreen IPS panel. The display sports a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. The brightness seems a little low at 220 nits and so does the pixel density at 144 PPI, but these are laptop displays and are supposed to be viewed at a larger distance than smartphone screens. As per the current norm, the latest 8th Generation Intel Core Processors power the HP Pavilion 15 laptops. Buyers have a choice with processors options ranging from a Core i5-8300H up to a Core i7-8750H. The base average frequency of the processors is 2.3 GHz, but they can reach up to 4.0 GHz or even a little higher when pushed to their limits. The laptop ships with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM with 2666 MHz frequency. For storage, the laptop has 1 TB 720 RPM HDD. The higher-end models get a 128 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. The HP Pavilion 15 laptop features a dedicated 4 GB GDDR5 Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti graphics card. The laptop also has onboard Intel’s UHD Graphics 630. This HP laptop has a plethora of connectivity options including, 1 USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1, 3 USB 3.1 Gen 1, 1 headphone jack, 1 RJ-45, and an HDMI v2.0. Despite packing a 52.5 Watt-Hour battery, the laptop is relatively light, weighing just 2.2 Kg. Interestingly, the battery supports Fast Charging technology. Although gamers prefer quality headphones, the HP Pavilion 15 Laptop packs quality speakers from Bang and Olufsen.

HP Omen 15 Gaming Laptop: Specifications

The HP Omen 15 laptop is the higher-end portable gaming machine. The laptop gets an 8th-gen Intel Core i7-8750H processor with a 2.2 GHz base frequency. Under Turbo Boost, the processor can hit 4.1 GHz. The display on this laptop sports a 15.6-inch UHD IPS anti-glare panel. Incidentally, this display is a lot brighter at 300 nits. The screen boasts of 144 Hz refresh rate, which should make the high-speed gaming sequences smooth and vivid to watch. The laptop gets multiple dedicated graphics options. Buyers can choose between an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti, GeForce GTX 1060, and a GeForce GTX 1070. The Omen 15 gets an option of 8 GB or 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, which can be further upgraded to 32 GB. The laptop gets the same HDD as the HP Pavilion 15, but it also packs a 128 GB PCIe NVMe SSD. In addition to all the connectivity ports found on the Pavilion 15, the HP Omen 15 gets one Mini DisplayPort as well. The gaming laptop supports Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, MU-MIMO. Moreover, this machine is Miracast certified. Despite all this hardware, the HP Omen is only slightly heavier than HP Pavilion 15 laptop. The device weighs about 2.38 Kg.

HP Pavilion 15 and HP Omen 15 Gaming Laptops: Price In India and Availability

Despite packing some powerful hardware that should make playing high end not only easy but pleasurable, the HP Pavilion 15 laptop range starts at Rs. 74,990. The HP Omen 15 range, on the other hand, starts at Rs. 1,05,990. Buyers can check out and buy these portable gaming machines at several HP offline and online partners. Besides the powerful gaming laptops, HP also launched quite a few high-end gaming accessories in the Omen series. The HP Sequencer keyboard is priced at 10,999. The HP Reactor mouse is priced at Rs. 3,499. There are a couple of gaming mouse as well. The Omen by HP Mouse 600 and Mouse 800 are currently available at a price of Rs. 4,999 and Rs. 6,999, respectively. To carry this premium gaming paraphernalia, HP also launched a high-end backpack. The Omen by HP Transceptor backpack has a price tag of Rs. 11,999. Barring the mouse, all the products will be available from next month. HP has launched two portable gaming powerhouses that effectively cover a wide price range. Recently the company managed to become the number one PC manufacturer in Indiaby dethroning Dell. Since then, both the companies have stepped up their game and have been launching quite a few products to boost adoption and engagement.
